Dry Ice Blasting Equipment

TRIVENTEK: New Technology for increased Profitablility!

Manufacturing of dry-ice is basically an easy operation. Problems start from the time of manufacturing to the time of usage. Typically only 50% of the expensive CO2 gas is actually used. Handling, storage and transport are the main problems since dry-ice is mostly manufactured off-site and almost immediately starts to sublime. Once sublimation starts, the pellets begin to lose their hardness and solidity and therefore their power and strength.

The revolutionary solution developed and patented by Triventek is on-site production by the new pelletizer with integral recovery unit, at the point of usage, in exact quantities. Triventek Website >>

  • Variable ice particle sizes for gentle and aggressive projects
  • Cuts ice and air job costs by up to 50%
  • Convenient, fully equipped nozzle case
  • Big machine power in a small package

Being able to regulate both the flow of dry-ice pellets and air pressure enables the cleaning of everything from electrical components to paint. The lightweight blast gun with trigger grip and safety switch makes it easy to handle. A single hose with integral antistatic wire gives the highest performance and is more operator friendly.

The Triblast-2 is available in 2 versions: All-Pneumatic and Electric.

The electric version uses standard 110 power and is electrically powered to maximize available air for the blasting process.

A wide selection of nozzles for various applications.

Pelletizer - Dry Ice on Tap
The Pelletizer enables the user to manufacture dry ice directly into the blaster or for chilling on site. High density pellets are produced onsite in any size from 1.7mm to 10mm.

The PE80 Pelletizer from Triventek;
Constant Quality when and where it's wanted
.
The unique PE80 pelletizer from Triventek with it's patented system for producing top quality dry-ice pellets is a truly mobile manufacturing plant.

This revolutionary equipment sets new standards for producing dry-ice. With the PE80, dry-ice can be manufactured where and when its wanted - quickly, efficiently and cheaply.

It has always been difficult to calculate the precise amount of dry-ice required for any particular operation. It's either too little or too much - it's unavoidable. Consequently there is non-productive working time, costly return visits or surplus material that deteriorates rapidly - all of which has a negative effect on margins and profits.

However, with the PE80 Pelletizer high density dry-ice pellets in any size from 1.7mm to 10mm, i.e. micropellets, cleaning pellets and cooling nuggets can be manufactured locally at the point of usage. It is small, easy to locate and requires only a source of liquid CO2 and three-phase power. The PE80 is transported on a frame which can also be used as a stand-alone framework. Alternatively, it can be wall-mounted.

The equipment can be integrated into a chilling process line for the food, pharmaceutical and other temperature-sensitive industries, and, with the addition of a blaster, can be used for automated cleaning operations. It is recommended that a Triventek RE80 Recovery Unit is also used to maximise efficiency and productivity.

The low capital investment means that even low volume dry ice users can get cost and convenience advantages through making their own dry ice, as and when it's needed.

Recovery Unit
Escaping gas from the pelletizer is collected and compressed back into liquid CO2 and reused to produce more dry-ice pellets.

The Triventek RE45 Recovery Unit
Normal dry-ice production uses liquid CO2 which when depressurised converts half the volume into snow but the rest escapes and is lost. The snow is then compressed into dry-ice pellets.

But, by using the revolutionary new RE45 Recovery Unit, all of the escaping gas is directed back, collected and reused to make more pellets. This becomes a continuous process and, as a result, will reduce production costs by 50% and rapidly increase operating margins and profits.

The small size unit is mobile and can be transported on site or built in for manufacturing of dry ice in any size pellets ranging from 1 to 10 mm at point of usage.

The operator friendly design only requires connection of 3 hoses and is operational by activating only one switch.

Air Preparation Unit
Pneumatic, portable dryer designed to provide clean, dry air to your dry ice blaster, when running from a portable diesel compressor. One APU can support up to 2 dry ice blasters.

Reduce moisture problems on your dry ice blasting projects and extend the life of your investment in dry ice blasting equipment by using the Wickens APU250.

Compressed Air Principles
Portable diesel compressors take ambient air and compress it for industrial use. The air is pre-filtered, then compressed, put through an air oil separator to remove any suspended oil particles and delivered to the outlet. Jack hammers and the like do not require any more air preparation than that, but dry ice blasting equipment contains small orifices, seals and gaskets that if exposed to the air as it is delivered from the compressor, will rapidly deteriorate and require repair.

The air from a compressor is HOT. Diesel compressor outlet air will have a temperature in excess of 100ºF. On a hot day, the outlet temperature can reach 180ºF. These temperatures will rapidly destroy standard air hoses and diaphragms in the equipment.

The air is WET. As the compressor gathers air from the atmosphere, it is also pulling in all the humidity with it. All the water is compressed as well. The combination of high humidity and high temperature results in hot air that is super saturated with moisture
. The air is full of oil from the compressor. The air - oil separator in the compressor is only designed to conserve oil for the compressor to give them some lubrication.

What the Wickens APU250 Accomplishes
The hot, wet, oily air from the compressor is first passed through an air to air heat exchanger which cools the air back down to just above ambient. Because the system was designed to be inexpensive and portable, it uses ambient air to cool the compressed air.

The cooled air is then passed through an air separator/filter canister. This unit causes the air to swirl around the outside of the bowl. Water and oil are centrifugally separated from the air and flow down the outside of the bowl to collect in the bottom. An auto drain periodically purges the fluid. Integral to the system is a sintered bronze filter that removes particles greater than 40 microns.

Features of the Wickens Air Preparation Unit:

  • Transport cart for portability is standard
  • Protective cover is standard
  • Completely pneumatic, no electricity required
  • Regulated fan motor
  • Contains separator with auto drain
  • Vertical mounted for optimal use of air flow.
  • Capable of supporting two dry ice blasters.
